Community Events

The students and their families enjoyed seeing the LEGO Brick Sculpture Safari at Brookfield Zoo! We took time to observe the sculptures as well as sketch them in our workbook!

The students named and created a scarecrow entry for the Scarecrow Fest held at Corn Fest in Morris. Our scare crow, Vincent Van Crow, won 1st place in the "Most Creative" category and 2nd place in the "People's Choice" category!

The students created ornaments from recycled material and used them to decorate a tree at Brookfield Zoo during their Tree Trim event. The proceeds from this event help the zoo animals!

PreK-5th grade students were invited to the Black Light Paint Night for some glow in the dark fun! We painted a spooky tree or a sneaky cat using glow in the dark paint under the black lights in the ES lunchroom! 

The students completed portraits of rescue dogs and cats from local animals shelters in the style of artist Steven Schuman. Their finished artwork went on display at the shelters for. The art show raised awareness for animals in need, and even resulted in multiple adopted animals!
