Dino-mite

“Being a librarian and PE aide at the same time is a unique position,  and I love when Mr. Petersen and I can bring the two together,” said Mrs. Planeta, who serves in dual roles at Coal City’s Early Childhood Center.

In the  library, she once again read “What the Dinosaurs Did at School,”  and they  came back. The students enjoyed a month of seeing where the toy dinosaurs were each day in the library, gym, lunchroom and halls. The students played games in PE including “Duck, Duck, Dinosaur,”“Extinction,” and Mrs. Planeta’s personal favorite, “Dinosaur Yoga.”

“We ended DiNO-vember  with a ‘drawer of no return' party in the library to introduce the  students to flexible seating, manipulatives, and get their own dinosaur name. We also had a scavenger hunt to find 15 dinosaurs loose in the school before they went back home,” Mrs. Planeta said.
