The closure of Carbon Hill Road at Oak Street is currently expected to begin on Wednesday, April 17. Once closed, the road will be inaccessible for two to three days as the village of Coal City extends municipal sanitary service to the Riverside Healthcare Coal City Campus.
As a reminder, if you travel from the north (Route 113/Division Street) to reach Coal City Early Childhood Center, Coal City Middle School or the District Administration Center it is recommended to utilize the alternate route by turning south on Marguerite Street from Route 113/Division Street and then west on Daisy Place to Carbon Hill Road where you will head south to reach your destination.
For those who travel from the south to reach Coal City High School, the suggested detour route is to turn east on Daisy Place and then north on Marguerite Street to access Route 113/Division Street and head west to the high school.
