Our School

We are proud to be the very first school experience for students in Coal City Community Unit School District #1. The ECC is home to more than 400 students from Preschool through First Grade, and we are committed to providing a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where every child can thrive.

Our school currently offers:

  • Six Morning Preschool Sections

  • Six Afternoon Preschool Sections

  • Seven Kindergarten Sections

  • Seven First Grade Sections

  • Specialized Education Programs and Classrooms

At the ECC, students experience full, fun-filled days! Kindergarten and First Grade students participate in Physical Education, Music  Art and Library, and spend time outside on our playgrounds each day. Preschool students also enjoy daily outdoor play, helping them develop both socially and physically.

Our staff is truly second to none. We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated professionals, including a full-time social worker, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and a school psychologist available three days a week. Our classroom teachers and paraprofessionals are passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive atmosphere that sets the tone for a lifelong love of learning.
