All About Mrs. Duffy

My husband, Dan, and I were born and raised in Dwight. We now raise our family there, and we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in June. Jack just turned 18 in March and has joined the United States Air Force. He is currently attending Basic Training in Texas. Lilly is my middle; she is 16 years old and she loves her new found freedom with her driver's license. Joe is my youngest, turned 14 years on St. Patrick's Day (our Irish family loves celebrating his birthday). He is excited to start high school this fall. We are a busy sports family, running to and from football, basketball, volleyball, and track! During the summer months we like to be outside boating and floating at South Wilmington Fireman's Beach Club.

This the beginning of my 23rd year teaching, I can't believe it's been that many years already!! I spent the first nine years of my career in early childhood special education working with 3, 4 & 5 year olds with special needs. I then spent the next 3 years teaching Kindergarten special education with Mrs. Muscato. I have been teaching young minds of Kindergarten since! I love every minute of it! I received my under graduate degree from Illinois State University in Early Childhood Education and my master's degree from Olivet Nazarene University as a Reading Specialist. This year I will begin a new journey of becoming a National Board Certified Teacher, a 2 year process.

Every year brings on new and unique challenges! I guarantee that your child will be cared for and loved in my classroom! I am nervous, excited, unsure, curious, etc (so many emotions) about this quickly approaching year. I know we will have FUN and we will LEARN! I am excited to meet your little ones and welcome them to Kindergarten!
